Bistro with terrace at the government bunker
Since 2020, the government bunker documentation site has had a modern catering and sanitary area that makes visiting the museum even more pleasant. The newly constructed building, which was completed after a construction period of around one year, not only offers sufficient toilet facilities, but also a cozy bistro with indoor and outdoor seating.

With the expansion of our location at the government bunker in Ahrweiler, we are enriching our range with Dutch beer and various Ahr wines, among other things.

Cozy terrace with vineyard view
A total of 16 seats inside and 34 seats on the terrace in front invite you to linger - with a view of the vineyards surrounding the Ahrweiler Trotzenberg. On a total area of 160 square meters, guests can fortify themselves with small snacks and drinks or simply enjoy the special atmosphere.
The new facilities are the answer to the continuously growing number of visitors: shortly after the opening of the documentation centre in 2008, the number of guests was already significantly higher than expected. The investment costs were fully covered by the surpluses generated by the documentation center - a clear sign of the successful development of this unique contemporary testimony.
